In November of 2010, we went halfway around the world to Southeast Asia to visit Thailand. We visited six separate locations, where we tasted much of their local food, rode elephants, went to the full moon party, and visited breath-taking beaches. This is a place we have spoken about for years, and we are ecstatic to add this to Stacey’s “done” list!

We chose hot air ballooning from Stacey’s list because it gave us the motivation and excitement to do something we would not ordinarily do. In the spirit and loving memory of Stacey, we took flight. What was so amazing (but not surprising) was to pull up to a remote airport and the only thing on the field was a trailer with a huge butterfly decal on it. We smiled knowing Stace was joining us for the adventure!

While I’ve been living in India for three years, with Stacey with me every day, I had a really special experience in Kolkata — my last of Delhi’s major metros to visit — in their botanical gardens. I went to see a giant sacred banyan tree, where I thought I lot about our roots and what makes us strong, and on my way out, I saw a huge flock bright yellow butterflies! I couldn’t catch them on camera, but I’m sharing a few of my other images of India, and that moment!

When we were on a family trip to Lake George with all my cousins, I taught my cousin Erin how to play a song on the guitar in honor of Stacey. I wish I could teach Stacey a song.

This summer while we were in Greece with Harris and Aphrodite, we learned how to drive stick shift. Harris was a great teacher and it was so nice to drive stick shift for Stacey, we were all thinking about her and we know she was laughing with us as we jolted back and forth while switching gears!
